Description
Iris plants accent the weathered blue door and old house, most probably no longer a home, in the medieval tiny town of Patones de Arriba, noted for its charming, rustic character, stone houses and pavement. Perched high on the mountain north of Madrid there are two villages with the name Patones; one called Patones de Arriba (up) high up in the mountain, the other Patones de Abajo (lower) where villagers eventually settled for easier life and access. In fairly recent years, Patones de Arriba was "rediscovered" and is now a place visited by many who desire to look back at the past and enjoy the charming views, picturesque rustic buildings, lush colors... There are art galleries, quaint coffee shops, restaurants, and lots of photo opportunities. Thank you for visiting my gallery!

Thanks a million for those kind words and the l/f, Suzanne! I admire your stateside images and think our feelings are similar about each other's work. Yours bring me to places I'm not able to visit. I also admire the way your art has evolved since the last two years or so when I started following.
