Description
On the Roman Bridge of Salamanca, with the Cathedral in the background, two pilgrims continue their journey to the iconic Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northwest Spain, in homage to St. James. Crossing the Tormes River, the bridge is 150 m long and built on 26 arches, of which fifteen are Roman of the 1st century BC, while the remainder dates from a 16th-century reconstruction after a flood.
