Description
The Saint Martin fountain gets the name from its location in the Plazuela (small plaza) de San Martin in the city of Segovia, Spain not far from the iconic Roman aqueduct. The fountain consists of a round-shaped, elevated granite pond, with two bronze lions and, on a marble pedestal between the lions, children also in bronze "groping" a dolphin or large fish. Partially shown in the background is Saint MartÃn de Tours, a 12th-century Romanesque style church. A marble panel with the image of the saint on the outside of the apse can be seen on the left side of the fountain.
