Front view of the iconic Sanctuary of Chimayo, New Mexico, a place of worship and pilgrimage for Catholic Christians. Surrounded by legend and tradition, it is a charming, beautiful, and popular site favored by many visitors. Built between 1814 and 1816, the shrine was privately owned until 1929 and is National Historic Landmark.
