Detail of vaults of the New Cathedral of Salamanca, Castille, Spain. Early "vision" of the project for a new cathedral was conceived in late XV century because the cathedral of Santa Maria de la Sede was deemed too small, dark, and low; construction took place during the XVII and XVIII centuries. Salamanca is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
