Artist's Description

In the month of May, a young gentleman wearing the typical Spanish cape, or capa (definitely not informal attire these days), walks in the shade of a street in Baeza perhaps strolling to some religious or special event at the nearby university or church.
Baeza is tiny, compact and provincial with a kind of perpetual Sunday air about it. At its heart is the combined Plaza Mayor and the paseo which is flanked by pavement cafes but delightfully low key and atmospheric. The Plaza de Leones is a particularly attractive cobbled square enclosed by Renaissance buildings and stands slightly back at the far end. Here on a rounded balcony the first mass of the Reconquest is reputed to have been celebrated, the impressive mansion beneath it houses the tourist office. Its historic Renaissance ensemble has been awarded the World Heritage designation by the UNESCO, along with the one in Ubeda, Arab Ubbadat, that was founded in the 9th century. Although with educational and professional background in business administration, Art was my passion from as early as I can remember.
