Description
Some years ago on the way from Lubbock to Wichita Falls, TX, a very familiar road trip for us, there was a detour by the famous 6666 Ranch due to some ongoing construction. Lost around unfamiliar tiny dirt roads, some in private land, we finally came to Knox City, a place we knew only in name, and were greeted by this star-spangled mural, perhaps a worthy reason for the detour! Knox City is part of the county of the same name that was created in 1858 and later organized in 1886. It is named for Henry Knox, an American Revolutionary War general. (Wikipedia excerpt). The county seat is Benjamin. Image protected by US and international copyright laws, not to be copied, manipulated, or used in any manner without prior written consent from the author, Nieves Nitta! You really made my day with this feature, Toni, just before July 4th -- a most wonderful patriotic feast! Thanks for sharing about your ties to Benjamin! By all means, let me know if you find the name of the mural's author as I would love to add it to the description in recognition. Know that the work you do administering your groups is much appreciated, you make it so personal and lovely!

Congratulations on your grand image being featured in Spirit of the West Photographs only group! Feel free to archive it in the Juuly discussion thread. Fantastic description too! Thanks for being an active member! (Oh and I think I can find out the artist of the mural if you want. In fact, my mom was born in Benjamin in 1912, she had me very late in life).
