Artist's Description

Image of the 19th-century Fountain of Ceres, goddess of agriculture, in the middle of its pond surrounded by bright pink flowers, in the Jardín del Parterre (a garden), behind the royal palace in Aranjuez (Community of Madrid, Spain). The fountain was made in 1804 and attributed to Esteban Ágreda (1759-1842). (Wikipedia Commons). The Royal Site of Aranjuez is located at the confluence of the Tagus and Jarama rivers, 42 kms (26 mi) south of Madrid, and 44 kms (27 mi) from Toledo. It has been one of the Royal Estates of the Crown of Spain since the times of Philip II in 1560. Until 1752, only the royalty and nobility were allowed to dwell in the town. The Cultural Landscape of Aranjuez was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001, Site No. 1044. ( Wikipedia Commons). Although with educational and professional background in business administration, Art was my passion from as early as I can remember.
