Artist's Description

A view of the iconic Alcazar from a path leading from El Parral Monastery to the shrine of Fuencisla, patroness of the city. The Alcázar of Segovia (literally, "Segovia Fortress") is a medieval alcázar located in the city of Segovia (Castile and León, Spain), World Heritage Site by UNESCO, No. 311. Rising out on a rocky crag above the confluence of two rivers near the Guadarrama mountains, it is one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape – like the bow of a ship. The Alcázar was originally built as a fortress but has served as a royal palace, a state prison, a Royal Artillery College and a military academy since then. It is currently used as a museum and a military archives building. This digital image is protected by US and international laws, not to be copied, manipulated, or used in any way or form without prior written consent from the artist, Nieves Nitta. Thanks for visiting!

It is a wonderfully beautiful world out there, and soon after starting taking pictures I felt impelled to share those images with friends, family, and beyond, as a way to relive the moments that I had so enjoyed capturing, perhaps even allowing others to see those places, people, art,...
